setting the timer

i’m back to having problems in longer sessions, so today i set a timer for 50 minutes and decided to get in an afternoon session.  finished down shy of a buy-in (set over set i never recovered from).

here’s the second biggest loser.  i guess a king bets this flop about, oh 100% of the time.  i check behind because i want to see the turn for free.

after he leads the turn, i’m thinking “hey, i can shoot down 55-JJ here with a raise”, and it was a semi-bluff.  i expect kings to call, although i’m not sure what i’m representing.  poorly played kings i suppose?  in any event, two other losers more than 6bb, so not a lot of big pots.

i love the idea of setting a timer on my sessions.  i can smell a habit, as i’ve already proved that i’ve  forgotten how to quit well.

SPORTS – it really didn’t occur to me at first, but . . .

paSportsTrophies

i guess all three of the major sports trophies are spending time in PA this year :)   not too shabby.

WORKOUTS – i’m getting spotty on them.  and the scene seems to be whenever i have a date with the wife or kids, i spend the afternoon “getting things done”, then move on to whatever the engagement is, and then poof – no workout.  i guess the first step in changing anything is to recognize the behavior that’s in the way.

last night it was Harry Potter that killed the jumping around session.  cool movie though.  tempts me to pick up the final book so i can find out how the story ends.  or, wait another two years for the final movie i suppose.

So sad about the Cup being in PA imo. :( I wish Datsyuk could have played the first four games, it sucks to not have your best player. However, Pittsburgh, get back there next year please. Detroit will back and hungrier, without POS Hossa. I would look so forward to seeing a third straight Cup Series with Pittsburgh, just because it would be genuinely exciting I think for all hockey fans in general, it would be so good for the game imo to establish a solid rivalry (though I feel like there is one now already! Damn Penguins!).

don’t listen to brian, the cup belongs in pittsburgh!!!! very much agreed at a threematch. would be sick.

any reason you decided to check back that flop with the draw other than to see it for free? do you check back with more of your nut draws in this spot or weaker ones, or just doing so because we have a paired board?
