if it weren’t for drugs and whacky broads

is one of my heartless taglines.  i pretty much say because of one or the other i’ve seldom had to pay retail for any music gear.  someone is unloading something or other – always – because they need scratch for the head, or their woman won’t let them out in a bar alone. 

i guess now i can add cheeseburgers to the list.  well, not quite – but kindof.  i managed to pick up my third hockey jersey last night because some fellow went from a big dude (320?) to a small dude (185), bought a $200 Lindros Jersey with all the trimmings, and then worked his way back up to 300+.  he’s got plenty of belly fat, but he’s strong like bull, so he carries the weight just fine.  still, he’ll never fit in that jersey again.  so, for $30 it found a new home in my closet.   

i like Lindros just fine.  anyone that plays hard enough to tear a lung, that’s plenty hard in my book.  i don’t care how it ended between him and Clarkey; maybe he is a daddy’s boy, but he’s no pussy. 

HOCKEY – played today.  in a perpetual short-handed state (short some players).  i think the 88 degree weather and the sun killed me tonight.  this afternoon it was fine.  wonderful workout.  tonight i’m completely sapped.  had to close out of a session because i could just feel myself zoning out.

i give up.  i filled up a whizzinator (52oz mug) and i’m having a beer and going down to the practice kit.

JAMS – the friday night jam was righteous.  chooch came back to do some second guitar work, and it was ON!  we hit some rusty patches, but the better part of the night was a Rock N Roll freight train.  it was soooo nice to feel that again.  count me in for the next one :)

i think we’ll have a rock jam on Friday, and then Saturday i’m going to juggle the schedule as best i can to get away for a few hours to do a folkin blues jam for Pete at the Natalie.  he’s gotten recalled to go back to Afghanistan (at the age of 40+).  there’s a lot of potential downside involved in that.

mark dropped off a Killswitch Engage disk that i’ve yet to dub, so that may be a fun thing to do tonight.  well, i want to grab some music for a particular piece of a Tool song as well. 

P90 – this has taken a half of a back seat.  this past week i didn’t do MY workouts.  instead, i’ve been bringing the boy child along helping him learn the original P90 routine.  so, it’s a workout, but not a terribly good one.  BUT, it’s still movement in a proper direction.  tomorrow the family (minus me) is going to a water park, so i can  get in a routine for me.  yay.

 CARDS – got in a session last night, and another tonight.  slowly digging myself out of that hole i jumped in to.  caught a ton of cards tonight that did me no good (like AA in the bb, folded all the way round.  that kind of no good.)

    Several posts ago, I mentioned KSE. Nice. Is it their new album? To me, it got much more melodic, but that is something I always liked about KSE anyways – the mixture of hard metal and melodic portions with singing make for some awesome emotionally powerful music.
