grappa

it’s a brandy. and apparently a “protected name” according to the EU. one of the criteria? it MUST be made in Italy, or it’s not Grappa. same product manufactured in California – not Grappa. smells like someone got paid when they put those rules together. or at least someone should have gotten paid.

some nonsense that was on my mind last night . . .

> Sam Adam’s Octoberfest is on the shelves. It is the best beer on the planet. I will have a keg of it this season for sure. it is strong – i’m not ready for it yet. i’m still tilting back these lite beers.

> Football is inches away. the second, and final pre-season game is going off tomorrow night. (high school). and in 8 days IT IS ON!!!

> i’m pretending to myself that i’m excited about football. the flyers open camp september 14th. someday they will win a championship. and i will cry. and piss myself. and cry again – but it will have nothing to do with pissing myself. i hope to do it all on TV.

> the first day of school knocked the piss out of the boy child. he came home, said it was boring, and napped for three hours. welcome to the new sleep schedule son

> i’m doing a double on saturday at the tavern. we usually open at 10am. this saturday, we open at noon. i don’t feel like getting out of bed that early.

> i’m doing some pork for BBQ tomorrow. right now the butts are in the oven for 3 hours, and smell delicious. they won’t be done for another 9 hours i bet. i’m hungry. the wife says she’ll probably dream of bacon. i don’t blame her.

> i’m looking forward to the new season of Sons Of Anarchy on FX.

Got in a session last night, and another today. i’m going back for one more in a moment, then maybe off to the drums for the rest of the night. back at 50NL at Stars. I’ve gathered a LOT of notes that read . . .
